    A large urban community college serves 13,000 active students across two major campuses with a lean IT team of just 20 full-time staff.     CHALLENGE 

    The client’s IT department carried a huge operational scope including campus IT, media services, secure networking, custom application support, and an in-house datacenter, all managed by a lean team that could not keep up with the institution’s expanding demands. Constant procurement demands, daily tactical firefighting, and rising expectations from academic and administrative stakeholders left little room for strategic thinking. 

    As the college accelerated adoption of modern technologies, the absence of a formal governance structure and a consistent communication framework became increasingly costly. Decisions were being made reactively rather than strategically, institutional priorities weren’t translating into IT action, and the team lacked the tools to demonstrate progress or build confidence with senior leadership.
