Accelerating Growth with Nearshore Cloud Migration and Niche Talent

    By ConsultNet Team | Case Study | Comments are Closed | September 23, 2024 | 0

A prominent software technology organization operating in the healthcare sector faced challenges with its legacy server-based technology, hindering their growth potential. The need for a transition to cutting-edge cloud technology was critical, however, sourcing tech talent with the expertise needed proved to be a daunting task. The organization recognized that without migrating to the cloud, their business expansion would be severely constrained.

    CHALLENGE

Faced with the challenge of locating skilled developers proficient in Go, a language not widely embraced but vital for their cloud migration, the organization knew they needed experts to scale operations and deliver a budget-friendly solution. In light of this obstacle impeding their growth plans, they actively sought a strategic partnership to overcome this challenge.

    SOLUTION

After a comprehensive bid process, a partnership was formed with TechBridge due to its platinum-level service, cost-effectiveness, scalability, and the ability to build a specialized nearshore team in Mexico. The highlights of the collaboration include:

      • EFFICIENT INTERVIEW PROCESS: Approximately 40 interviews over a three-day period with technology managers at the TechBridge state-of-the-art facility in Guadalajara, Mexico.
      • 30+ NICHE DEVELOPMENT TEAM: From these interviews a team of 20 bilingual developers and testers with expertise in Go, Docker, and Kubernetes was swiftly assembled. Within three short months, this team later expanded to over 30.
      • PROJECT MANAGEMENT SUPPORT: In addition to the development team, a Project Manager and ScrumMaster collaborated with stakeholders to ensure the smooth execution of the project.
      • CONTINUOUS COLLABORATION: The leadership team was actively involved, frequently visiting the facility for training, meetings with employees, and engagement in various events.

    RESULTS

The strategic partnership with TechBridge yielded significant benefits, addressed the immediate challenges, and propelled them towards sustained growth, technological advancement, and operational excellence in their critical healthcare-oriented projects, including:

      • COST SAVINGS: 65% saving over local costs for a similar project in the US
      • EFFICIENCY AND EFFECTIVENESS: The specialized development team was so efficient and effective that they were entrusted with additional tasks beyond the initial scope and provided expertise to other areas of the organization.
      • MULTIPLE PROJECTS COMPLETED: During the two-year engagement, multiple projects brought operational efficiencies and enhanced processes for the organization and their customers.

“We were thoroughly impressed by the exceptional quality of developers, the depth of the talent pool, and the ongoing seamless communication while working with TechBridge.”

    VP of Software Engineering

Change is a constant in the tech industry. As businesses grow, adapt, and disrupt the IT landscape, embracing innovation is crucial to staying ahead. To remain relevant and ultimately outpace the competition, companies must be nimble and flexible with their IT projects and hiring strategies. While offshore teams have been a traditional solution for the talent shortage faced by U.S. companies, they often fall short due to high costs, cultural differences, and language barriers. However, a customized nearshore approach, particularly in Guadalajara and throughout Mexico, has proven to be an effective alternative.

In today’s highly competitive market for IT talent, simply filling open positions is no longer sufficient. The tech industry, rich with opportunities, makes it easy for top talent to find new roles if their current employer isn’t actively investing in retention efforts. This reality emphasizes the need for companies to go beyond recruitment, focusing instead on creating an environment where employees feel valued and motivated to stay.
