Placing AI Leadership to Drive Product and Operational Transformation

    By ConsultNet Team | Case Study | Comments are Closed | 12 February, 2026 | 0

A SaaS workflow automation company needed to become AI-native to stay competitive, but lacked the senior leadership to execute transformation at both the product and operational levels. Without executives who could embed AI into customer-facing features while simultaneously modernizing internal systems and processes, the company risked falling behind competitors, slowing product innovation, and missing critical opportunities to leverage AI for operational efficiency and scalability.

    RESULTS AT A GLANCE
      • Dual leadership driving AI transformation across internal operations and product innovation
      • Faster execution and reduced risk in AI initiatives through specialized expertise
      • Scalable growth enabled without linear increases in headcount
    CHALLENGE

The company’s SaaS platform helps enterprises replace manual, paper-based processes with automated digital workflows, but to stay competitive, they needed to embed AI throughout their products and internal operations.

The challenge was finding leaders who could execute at both levels with someone to modernize internal systems, data, and security with AI-first automation, and someone to build AI directly into the product, creating differentiated features that increase customer value and retention. These weren’t typical IT or engineering roles. The company needed deep expertise in generative AI and foundation models, AWS-centric cloud architecture (including AWS Bedrock), multi-tenant SaaS platforms, enterprise data and analytics, AI-assisted development tools, and zero-trust security. Most importantly, they needed leaders who could code, prototype, and ship AI capabilities, not just strategize.

    SOLUTION

We placed two critical hires through our AI Talent Services and Direct Executive Search.

      • Hired a VP of Information Technology (AI) to lead internal transformation, embedding AI-first workflows across departments, modernizing systems and data infrastructure, and strengthening cloud and zero-trust security
      • Placed an AI Technology Leader to own AI strategy from concept to production, designing and coding AI-powered product features that enhance the SaaS platform and create revenue impact
      • Delivered candidates with hands-on expertise across LLMs, AWS Bedrock, cloud-native SaaS stacks, enterprise data platforms, GitHub Copilot, and AI-driven automation
      • Enabled direct execution by the client with specialized talent to roadmap, strategize, and build
    Delivering Lasting IMPACT

The company now has leadership at both the operating model and product levels. The VP of IT (AI) is re-engineering how the business runs using AI and automation, improving efficiency and decision intelligence while reducing costs. The AI Technology Leader is embedding AI directly into the platform, creating differentiated features that increase customer value and retention.

Together, these hires reduce execution risk, shorten time to value, and enable scalable growth without proportional increases in headcount. The company can now respond faster to market shifts while maintaining enterprise-grade security and compliance.
